New England Patriots WR Ja'Lynn Polk (shoulder) was limited during offseason practices after undergoing shoulder surgery and could be a candidate for the Physically Unable to Perform list if he makes the team, according to ESPN.com's Mike Reiss.
Huddle Up: This report highlights two things: the 2024 second-round pick has fallen out of favor so quickly that he may not make the team. It also serves as an indication of how much more talent is in the receiver room after the team added Stefon Diggs, Kyle Williams and others this offseason. Odds are that New England will not give up on a Day 2 so quickly, but he will have his work cut out for him to see any playing time early in the season.

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas "looked at home" working out of the slot this spring and was Drake Maye's favorite receiver in the final two practices of the late spring, according to Evan Lazar of the team's website.
Huddle Up: While it is notable that Stefon Diggs is still working his way back from last year's ACL tear and has not been fully involved in practices yet, the slot role has long been a featured part of offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels - such as Jakobi Meyers, Julian Edelman, and Wes Welker, to name a few. Douglas' ability to get open quickly has never been a question, even as Drake Maye noted last summer how Douglas reminded him of Josh Downs from their days together at North Carolina. It may be too much to ask Douglas to be a fantasy WR3 in 2025, but it is also not out of the question.

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs (knee) was limited to individual drills during practice Monday, June 9.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor Diggs during training camp to see if he will be ready for the start of the 2025 regular season. He will be the top receiver for the Patriots when he is ready to play and can be a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver in fantasy leagues.

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas has "gotten better" and "picked up everything that we have asked him to do," according to head coach Mike Vrabel on Monday, June 9. "I love the person. I love his attitude. I love his spirit. He loves to practice. He loves to play this game; he loves football....He's gotten better....He's picked up everything that we've asked him to do," Vrabel told reporters during his Monday presser.
Huddle Up: The love affair seems to be mutual, as Douglas also told reporters on Monday that he loves Josh McDaniels' new offense, which has historically been quite friendly to slot receivers. While Efton Chism III has been the talk of camp so far in New England, Douglas is the prohibitive favorite to be the next slot machine in a McDaniels' offense - following in the footsteps of of Wes Welker, Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola, among others - if he can hold off Chism. Douglas has a great chance of being one of the best values in fantasy this season if he emerges as the primary slot option.

New England Patriots QB Drake Maye has done a good job picking up the offense and has shown solid development this offseason, according to offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. "He's doing really well. He's very smart. Works really hard," McDaniels said. "He's doing a really good job of digesting the information, processing the corrections when there is a correction to be made, and going out there with a great attitude and mindset the next day."
Huddle Up: Maye is coming off a productive rookie season and should have more success in his second season. He probably can be considered a high-end No. 2 fantasy quarterback entering the 2025 season but has a chance to become a weekly starting option if he plays well.

New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson said he is very comfortable with the offensive playbook because offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was with the Patriots when he was a rookie.
Huddle Up: Stevenson should be the starting running back for the Patriots this upcoming season but probably will have to share the work with TreVeyon Henderson. He can be at least a flex option in most fantasy leagues.

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs is not in danger of being released this offseason.
Huddle Up: Diggs had an off-field incident recently, but the Patriots seem ready to have him play this upcoming season. He will be the top receiver when he returns to the lineup and can be at least a No. 4 receiver in fantasy leagues.

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs (knee) reported to organized team activities Monday, June 2.
Huddle Up: Diggs is expected to miss the start of the season as he recovers from a torn ACL. He should be back to his WR2 ways by midseason, but he'll be a WR3 target you'll need to grab a banger of a WR4 for the first half to replace him with.

The New England Patriots are considering releasing WR Stefon Diggs, according to Scott Zolak of 98.5 The Sports Hub. On Wednesday, May 28, a video surfaced of Diggs partying on a yacht during Memorial Day weekend with an unidentified pink substance in his possession while surrounded by three women. Zolak claims that the viral video is not the only reason why the organization is considering cutting ties with him, although he did not elaborate on other possible reasons.
Huddle Up: Even if Diggs remains on the team, he could miss the beginning of the 2025 season while he recovers from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. When healthy, he can be viewed as a low-end WR2 or high-end WR3 in fantasy leagues.

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs (knee) was absent from voluntary organized team activity, Wednesday, May 28, one day after a video of him surfaced on social media in which he was on a boat and flashed an unidentified pink substance while surrounded by three women. "It's something we're aware of and obviously we want to make great decisions on and off the field," head coach Mike Vrabel said. "... Any conversations that I've had with Stefon will remain between him and I and the club."
Huddle Up: Diggs could miss time at the beginning of the season recovering from a torn ACL and will be a low-end WR2 or WR3 in fantasy.

New England Patriots WRs Kendrick Bourne, Kayshon Boutte, Javon Baker, and Ja'Lynn Polk are likely to have a "spirited competition" for a place on the team's 53-man roster, in the opinion of ESPN's Mike Reiss, who considers WRs Stefon Diggs (knee), DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams, and Mack Hollins to be the top-four receivers. Most NFL teams carry five or six wideouts, in which case the group of Bourne, Boutte, Baker, and Polk could be competing for one or two spots.
Huddle Up: Polk, the 37th overall pick last year, did next to nothing as a rookie, but it'd still be surprising to see the team move on after just one season. That would leave Baker, a fourth-round pick in 2024, Boutte, who trailed only Douglas among the team's wideouts in receiving yardage last year, and Bourne, who was New England's best receiver in 2023, to battle for one spot. Of this foursome, Bourne is the only one that's had a moment in the fantasy sun, though at age 30 and less than two years removed from a torn ACL, his best days may be behind him. Unless injuries thin out the projected top four, nobody here is even worthy of watch-list status.

New England Patriots WR Kyle Williams is the team's "X-factor" at receiver, in the opinion of The Athletic's Chad Graff, who writes that the rookie "excels off the line of scrimmage, was great against man coverage in college and wins downfield," which Graff notes were "three traits the Patriots sorely lacked last season." Graff adds that "a lot rides on Williams' development," as he could become a starter opposite WR Stefon Diggs (knee) with WR Demario Douglas in the slot.
Huddle Up: Even if Williams does claim a top-three job, the Patriots haven't had a truly productive receiver in years, and Graff even mentions the rookie gaining at least 600 yards as a best-case scenario, which is far from fantasy relevancy in most leagues. As a talented newcomer with a pathway to playing time, Williams deserves to be monitored, but he's not someone to invest a draft choice on at this juncture.

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs (knee) could "maybe reasonably" make his debut around Week 4, in the opinion of The Athletic's Chad Graff, who writes that Diggs' recovery and return to form will be essential for QB Drake Maye to take the next step. Diggs is recovering from a torn ACL suffered on Oct. 27, 2024.
Huddle Up: Signed to a three-year deal to give Maye a bonafide No. 1 receiver, Diggs is by far the most accomplished wideout in New England. How much he has left in the tank coming off major injury and entering his age-32 season is the question. If Graff is correct on the veteran's recovery timeline, we'd be looking at a best-case scenario of Diggs playing in 13-14 games, and that includes missing early season games when the weather is good. Given his track record, Diggs deserves consideration as a WR4 that could return to weekly start status once he's healthy and on the same page with Maye.

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs (knee) participated in drills during OTAs Thursday, May 22.
Huddle Up: Diggs appears to be on track in his recovery from knee surgery, and it looks like he should be ready for the start of the season. The Patriots are searching for a go-to receiver, and if Diggs can develop chemistry with Drake Maye, he could be a sneaky WR3.

New England Patriots WR Efton Chism III - whose undrafted free-agent contract contains more guarantees than any of the team's seventh-round draft picks - stood out in a big way during organized team activities on Tuesday, May 20, according to NBC Sports Boston's Phil Perry. One particular stop-and-go move had Perry reminiscing about Julian Edelman. "The guy who stood out to me today was Efton Chism, and it wasn't because he had this amazing connection with Drake Maye. I don't think Drake Maye threw him a pass in competitive periods. He looked really quick to me. This is the undrafted rookie out of Eastern Washington. He decelerates at a very rapid rate. He'll be running a crosser, catch it and stop on a dime and create separation for himself in that kind of way," Perry told Tom Curran on the "Patriots Talk" podcast.
Huddle Up: Chism will likely go undrafted in all but the deepest rookie drafts, but he is a player to keep an eye on after he broke some of Cooper Kupp's records at Eastern Washington. The Patriots reportedly outbid six teams for the 23-year-old, who did not test well in the 40 (4.71) but did perform well in the three-cone drill (6.77) and short shuttle (4.04). Chism will most likely set his sights on beating out Demario Douglas for the primary slot role and has a realistic chance of doing so. Given offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels' love for featuring the slot receiver, the winner of the competition could be very relevant in fantasy in 2025.

New England Patriots QB Drake Maye threw four interceptions during team drills at practice Tuesday, May 20.
Huddle Up: Maye is coming off a productive rookie season and will look to improve on his start in 2025. He probably will be a high-end No. 2 quarterback in most leagues but could be a possible low-end No. 1 quarterback in some deeper leagues.

New England Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson (undisclosed) participated in practice Saturday, May 10, after missing practice Friday, May 9, because of an undisclosed reason.
Huddle Up: Henderson probably will share playing time Rhamondre Stevenson this upcoming season but has a chance to take over the starting job at some point during the season. He can be a flex option in some leagues depending on his workload.

New England Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson (Ohio State) was selected at No. 38 overall on Friday, April 25. However, the Chicago Bears reportedly tried trading up for the No. 35, No. 36 and No. 37 picks and were turned down each time.
Huddle Up: The Bears ended up with Kyle Monangai in the seventh round, which is not a bad consolation prize all things considered. However, it is disappointing for many fantasy managers that Henderson will not be taking his talents to the Windy City to play for Ben Johnson. According to Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune, it sounds as though the Bears also tried to land Cam Skattebo and maybe even Bhayshul Tuten early on Day 3. Expect Chicago to add a veteran early-down back - Nick Chubb has been mentioned as a possibility - in the coming days or weeks.

New England Patriots second-round draft choice TreVeyon Henderson is a "bit undersized" but someone the team views as a "three-down back and a really good complement," according to executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf.
Huddle Up: Henderson was taken with the 38th overall pick on Friday, so he will see the field early and often as a rookie. While it is true that he is a bit undersized at 202 pounds, he was perhaps the best combination of big-play ability and pass-game utility that the 2025 draft had to offer at running back after Ashton Jeanty. Expect Henderson to secure most of the work on passing downs and handle roughly eight to 10 carries each week, which would easily be enough to put him in the high-end flex conversation.

Washington State WR Kyle T. Williams was selected by the New England Patriots with the 69th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Williams should provide a big-play threat for Drake Maye, and he has the potential to emerge as one of Maye's go-to targets.

Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson was selected by the New England Patriots with the 38th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Henderson likely will be behind Rhamondre Stevenson on the depth chart but should still see a good amount of playing time during his rookie season. He can be selected in fantasy drafts and could be at least a flex option at some point in 2025.

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs could receive some work as the slot receiver this upcoming season, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Mike Reiss.
Huddle Up: Diggs should be on the field for most of the offensive snaps no matter where he lines up. He is a productive receiver when healthy and can be a No. 3 receiver or flex option in most fantasy leagues.

Free-agent WR Stefon Diggs (Texans) officially signed his three-year contract worth a reported $69 million on Friday, March 28.
Huddle Up: There is still some uncertainty that needs to be ironed out - namely Diggs continuing a setback-free recovery from ACL surgery and New England not using a high pick at receiver in the draft - but Diggs should have little problem emerging as the team's alpha receiver early in the season. While the 31-year-old is no longer at the height of his powers, he should still be a viable fantasy starter if he returns to the form he showed last year in Houston before his injury. Consider him a low-end WR3 with occasional WR2 upside in 2025 drafts.

Free-agent WR Stefon Diggs (Texans) agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the New England Patriots Tuesday, March 25, worth $69 million, according to sources. The deal includes $26 million in guaranteed money.
Huddle Up: Diggs is recovering from a serious knee injury but seems to have a good chance to be ready for the start of the 2025 season. He will be the main option in the passing game for the Patriots and probably will be at least a No. 3 receiver in most fantasy leagues.

Free-agent WR Stefon Diggs (Texans) is believed to be ahead of schedule in his recovery and has started running at full speed, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Diggs is one of the top receivers available in free agency and seems to have a good chance to be ready for the 2025 season. He likely will be a starter no matter where he signs and can be a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Free-agent WR Stefon Diggs (Texans) had a positive meeting with the New England Patriots but left without a contract. The two sides will continue to talk.
Huddle Up: Diggs is recovering from a serious knee injury, so there is no urgency for the two sides to reach an agreement at this point. Diggs is a productive receiver when healthy and can be a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver next season if he signs with the Patriots.

Free-agent WR Stefon Diggs (Texans) is expected to meet with New England Patriots this week, according to a source.
Huddle Up: The Patriots have not been able to add a top receiver this offseason, but Diggs likely will be a good option in the passing game if he decides to sign. He is recovering from a knee injury but could be a No. 3 or No. 4 fantasy receiver for the Patriots.

Impending free-agent WR Mack Hollins (Bills) agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the New England Patriots Monday, March 10, worth as much as $10.4 million, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Hollins has a chance to have a decent role in the passing game depending on what the team does at the position over the next few months. He could be a late round option in some deeper leagues if he is a top three receiver for the Patriots.
