Buffalo Bills RB James Cook is at a stalemate with the team in terms of a new contract, and it's unclear whether he will be present at mandatory minicamp, according to sources Saturday, June 7. Cook can be fined over $100,000 if he does not report for mandatory minicamp.
Huddle Up: With Cook coming off a career season that included 1,267 total yards and 18 total touchdowns, it's expected that he will want a new deal going into the final year of his rookie contract. It's still early in the process so managers should still view Cook as a fringe RB1 going into training camp.

He will receive most of the work in the running game when he returns to the team and should be a weekly starting option in all leagues.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook did not report for the start of the offseason program on Tuesday, April 22.
Huddle Up: It would not be a surprise if Cook misses the bulk of spring work as he continues his quest to push for a contract extension that pays at least $15 million per season. In the meantime, expect Ray Davis to get the bulk of first-team work and make his case for more touches in 2025.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook will play for the team next season regardless of the wide gap in contract extension negotiations, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.
Huddle Up: Cook, who is due to make $5.3 million in 2025, is reportedly asking for $15 million per season. The 25-year-old should be one of the more attractive free agents in the event he reaches the open market next offseason, although it would be a shock if it happens. Either way, it appears he can be counted on to handle his usual 15 or so touches each week and serve as a low-end fantasy RB1.
