Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud (shoulder) is throwing at minicamp Tuesday, June 10.
Huddle Up: Stroud was the QB17 last season, throwing for 3,727 yards, 20 TDs and 12 INTs. All of those were a step back from his great rookie season. He has been dealing with shoulder soreness this offseason but appears to be on the mend. He'll be a high-end QB2 option that may be overdrafted based on hype.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud (shoulder) has taken limited reps during the team's offseason practices, but head coach DeMeco Ryans noted on Tuesday, June 3, that Stroud is just experiencing "general soreness" in his shoulder and the team is taking "extra precaution" with him.
Huddle Up: It appears fantasy managers should have no concerns about Stroud's readiness for the season. The bigger issue for Stroud is trying to rediscover his rookie-year form behind an offensive line that may not be any better than last season's awful unit. It will help Stroud's cause that Houston invested heavily in receivers such as Christian Kirk, Jaylin Noel and Jaylen Higgins. While Stroud will have his work cut out for him to repeat 2023, he should be better than he was in 2024.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud (pectoral) has not been throwing recently because of a tight pectoral muscle, but the injury is believed to be minor, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Stroud will have plenty of time to rehab the injury and should be ready when training camp begins. He will have some new pass catchers to work with this upcoming season and probably will start off as a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud told reporters on Monday, April 21, that he will be "taking full ownership (of the offense)" and "running the show."
Huddle Up: At this point, Stroud will be given more responsibility behind an offensive line that - at least on paper - appears to be worse than last year's disastrous group. With that said, it will probably help the Texans' cause if Stroud feels free to react to what he sees from the defense in real time as opposed to occasionally deferring to the center on line calls. Stroud should be considered a high-upside fantasy QB2 at this moment, although a draft haul that includes a good offensive lineman or two and a solid receiver could bump him into the low-end TE1 discussion.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud was hurried a league-high 66 times during the 2024 season, according to Pro Football Reference.
Huddle Up: This news likely does not come as a shock to anyone who regularly watched the Texans, as the offensive line struggled to stay healthy and keep Stroud clean. What is slightly more alarming is that he was hurried 19 more times than he was as a rookie and 13 more times than any other quarterback in 2024. One of the top priorities for Houston this offseason will be upgrading the offensive line and adding some quality depth to it. The Texans will be hard-pressed to push the elite teams in the AFC until he gets more help from his offensive line.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud was pressured 174 times during the 2024 regular season, which led the NFL in that category.
Huddle Up: Stroud lost several of his receivers to injury this season, so he had to work with new receivers some weeks. He finished the season with 3,727 passing yards and 20 touchdowns in 17 games. He probably will be a low-end No. 1 or a high-end No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues next season.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud went 19-for-28 for 245 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round playoff game. He also rushed for 42 yards on six carries during the game. RB Joe Mixon rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries while also catching two passes for 12 yards. WR Nico Collins caught five passes for 81 yards on eight targets, TE Dalton Schultz caught four passes for 63 yards on four targets and WR Xavier Hutchinson caught four passes for 52 yards on six targets.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud went 6-for-6 for 50 yards and one touchdown against the Tennessee Titans in Week 18.
Huddle Up: The Texans clinched the No. 4 seen in the AFC before the game, so Stroud did not see much playing time against the Titans. He has been held to under 250 yards in each of his last six games but could still be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues next week.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud completed 23 of 39 attempts for 244 yards, tossing two touchdowns and two interceptions Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 16. He was sacked twice and rushed for 23 yards on two carries.
Huddle Up: Stroud enters Week 17 on a short week with Baltimore coming to town for a Christmas Day meeting. The second-year passer will be short on weapons but has a so-so matchup. Here's potential if WR Nico Collins and TE Dalton Schultz can step up, but he's best left in reserve as the reward isn't worth the risk.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud completed 18 of his 26 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-12 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 15.
